Status Update: Father of the Year

Twilight - Stephenie Meyer

After returning home from the hospital, Charlie shares this charming exchange with his daughter:

When we got to the house, Charlie finally spoke.

"Um ... you'll need to call Renee." He hung his head, guilty.

I was appalled. "You told Mom!"

"Sorry."

I slammed the cruiser's door a little harder than necessary on my way out.

Why the fuck is he apologizing for telling the MOTHER OF HIS CHILD that Bella was in the hospital? That's responsible, Charlie. Stop being such a wimpy dish of pudding.

For the rest of the Twilight series, this will pretty much sum up Charlie's parenting style:

"Okay, don't yell! Do whatever you want, honey. I'm just your FATHER, after all."
